In/Out board This electronic In/Out board displays remarks beside employee names, such as "In", "In but unavailable", "On vacation until<Date>", etc. You may choose from a list of standard remarks or type your own customized remarks. The standard remarks can be completely tailored.
Receptionists can respond to visitors and callers without having to search in the office to find out who is available.
"In" and "Out" automationWhen the program starts, there is an optional provision for the display board to automatically shows you as "In". You can choose the option to have the board indicate "Out" when you stop the program.
Customize ScreenThe length and width of the columns are adjustable. The columns can be sorted alphabetically and in reverse order. For instance, you can sort the column to display together all the employees that are "In".
The text of the main titles, information screen, option screen and remarks list can be changed or translated into other languages.
The Miscellaneous field (fourth column) can be used for any purpose. You can choose your preferred background colors for the remarks.
Date/Time stampThe option exists to have the date and time appear in the fourth column of the in/out board, updating whenever a remark changes. The option also exists to log changes in remarks in a database for easy importing into any standard database program/spreadsheet. A separate file is created for each month.
Messaging systemYou can send and receive messages. There is an option to disable the entire messaging system.
New message notificationWhen a message is received, the OfficeView Pro screen appears (optional) and a single chime sounds (optional). The title bar or icon will remind you that you have unread messages.
Employee Information screenEach employee has an information screen that only the employee or administrator(s) can update. It displays handy information for all to read; such as, telephone, cell phone, fax and pager numbers, etc., and a notepad with very large space. The administrator can change any of the labels to record other information useful to your organization, e.g., standard hours of work, person to contact in your absence, or home phone number.
Filter by groupNames may be displayed by group/organization.
Search capabilityOfficeView Pro has a feature that allows you to search for information in any of the columns. For instance, a search can be done for a name in the organization. When the user starts to type the name of an individual, the program automatically scrolls you through the alphabetical listing to the name. Searches can be done by organizational unit, remarks, etc..
Change others' status Nobody can change anyone else's status unless the administrator gives the individual the capability to do so. This privilege is usually given to receptionists and/or bosses.
Centralized configurationThe administrator(s) can access and change important information, such as adding or deleting users and enabling options to be made available to users. This can be performed from any workstation.
Wide range of sizesThe program is available in sizes ranging from 20 to hundreds of users.
Other uses of programSome sites report that in addition to using the in/out board to include employee names, they use a separate "Group" to display their inventory and assets, such as vehicle availability or board room status.
Supports several platformsSelf-contained native code for Windows 3.x, 95/98/ME/NT and 2000. Since there are absolutely no DLLs required, it won't interfere with the support files of other applications.

Very efficient There is low LAN band width consumption. It can run with as little as four megs of hard disk space, including the space to store messages and database information. Most offices with about 50 users would need about five megs of disk space, including sufficient space to store messages and the database.
